How Do I Know If I Would Benefit From Colon Cleansing?

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

If you’re familiar with the many benefits of a colon cleanse, you may be wondering how you tell if you would benefit from colon cleansing.

The truth is many people make poor dietary choices and also have to deal with environmental pollutants.  That means most of us would be healthier if we had colon cleansing.

I learned a lot at How To Tell If You Need a Colon Cleanse. Here’e a quick summary.

Since the colon plays a very important role in the G.I. tract and passage of wastes it’s not surprising that bowel symptoms may indicate the need for a colon cleansing.  Hard stool, a change in bowel movements, excessive gas, and abdominal distension can all be be signs that a colon cleanse may be of benefit.

Because the effects of a poor diet are very gradual and the body has an amazing ability to compensate, such symptoms may worsen imperceptibly until they become a significant problem. As you’d expect it’s best start a colon cleanse as soon as a the problem is recognized.

It’s obvious that bowel symptoms may suggest the need for a colon cleanse, many people are surprised by how many additional parts of the body may be affected.

Low energy is a common difficulty that a cleanse often helps. So can muddled thinking and a sense of confusion.

Our skin is the largest organ in our body and skin problems can indicate the need for a cleanse. In addition, poor colon health can influence the immune system so even something like catching a frequent cold may be a indication that a cleanse could be a help.

As you can tell from the above signs and symptoms that you may benefit from colon cleansing are quite diverse. This means that the benefits of a cleanse can be quite remarkable.

Istrongly suggest you find out more about colon cleansing.

A great site to do just that is Effective Colon Cleansing.

However keep in mind that the underlying goal of any good colon cleanse is to support optimum function of the colon and the entire G.I. tract.

Try A Healthy Detox Diet

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Cleansing and detox programs have become very popular in the pastfew years. A body cleanse can be a process that lasts for just a few days or four weeks -- it really depends upon the type of cleanse you are doing and the results you're trying to get from your cleanse.

Are you cleansing to lose weight? Maybe you want to give your colon and digestive tract a clean slate by removing waste matter and toxins that have built up due to an unhealthy diet. Maybe you want to do a a water only fast to give your digestive system a complete rest. Whatever your reason for cleansing, your body will enjoy the break from your usual regimen and if you do your cleanse right you can really see some great benefits.

A detoxifying cleanse can be done in many different ways.

Here are a few detox cleanses for you to consider:

Master Cleanse Diet
This is the most common and widespread type of 10 day detox diet. This is where you change your diet and simplify what you eat for a period of time. A "change your diet" type of cleanse may mean that you eat only fruit and/or vegetables or another type of cleansing food during the cleanse.

Fasting cleanse:
Another type of cleanse can also involve fasting. Fasting is usually described as as not consuming any food. This type of cleanse usually requires that you take in a lot of fluids and these fluids flush out toxins from your body -- especially from your colon and digestive tract. There are "water only" fasts, vegetable juice fasts, fruit juice fasts, smoothie fasts and other types of liquid fasts. Fasting is also one of the fastest ways to lose weight when cleansing.

Parasite Cleansing:
Some health practitioners believe that a vast majority of the worlds population is living with dangerous organisms or parasites inside their bodies. They say that you can get these organisms by drinking unclean water or eating undercooked meat or by having poor hygiene. To do a parasite cleanse you usually will need to ingest a mixture of black walnut hull, male fern root, clove, wormwood and more. These special blends cause a nasty and untenable environment for the organisms which causes them to leave your body.

No matter what cleanse you do, it is recommended that you use simple organic ingredients so that you do not bring more toxins into your system that would contradict the healing process you are trying to create with the cleanse.

When you decide to do a cleanse, find one that works in synchronization with your body to cause a natural discharge of poisons and toxins. Your ultimate aim at the end of a detox cleanse is to feel renewed and revitalized and it really is possible.

How to Stay Worked Up For Your Rock-Solid Six Pack Work Out

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

First, this article assumes that you own a piece of equipment, like an Ab Lounge in your home to assist you in making proper crunches. It is important to execute a correct crunch for a more effective workout and least chance of injury.  Also, a proper warm up and stretch before your workout is highly recommended.

1. Set Your Goals
The most important step on the road to flat abs is to set a proper goal.  A proper goal is a challenge. A proper goal is just outside of your comfort zone, something you’ll have to really work.  This goal should make you sweat!  Just the thought of accomplishing it, should get you excited.

But also, its very important that your goal is realistic.  If you pick something unrealistic, for example, to have flat abs tomorrow morning, this is unrealistic and will DE-motivate you more than anything else.  You need to pick something that you can manage and you can always make it bigger further down the road.

2. Chunk Your Goals Down Into Sub-goals
Once you’ve decided on your major goals, start to break them down into smaller chunks.  On your pathway to firm abs, what would the half-way point look like?  And if you broke that sub-goal in half, what would that look like?

Try to keep these sub-goals centered more around actions that you can physically take rather than the results of those actions.  A good sub-goal would be something you have 100% control over, like “Do 5 Minutes on my Ab Lounge A Day” for example.

3. Track and Chart Your Progress
Checking a box or crossing something off a list can be the most motivational thing you can imagine.  Put together a spreadsheet and check off each of your daily goals as you accomplish them.  Each week, look over all of your checkmarks and CELEBRATE. You can give yourself a cupcake, an extra hour of TV, or just give yourself an extra break.  Make sure you really celebrate every small accomplishment and celebrate them often.

4. Make Working Out Fun
Place your Ab Lounge Sport in front of the TV or play some inspirational tunes. Do whatever you need to make working out as pleasurable as you can. You will train your subconscious to associate working out with fun and soon you be looking forward to your next workout.  Learn how to love it!

5. Keeping Moving Forward, Even If You Slip Up
Setbacks are normal.  Life will do everything it can to get in the way of your exercise, this is normal. If you miss a day’s workout or even a week’s, it won’t have as much effect on your results as you’d think, just keep moving forward. Just move on, don’t focus on your slip-ups.  Just start out accepting that they happen, don’t take them to heart and don’t let them get you down.

Just follow these tips on your pathway to a six pack.  Use a solid piece of gear, like an Ab Lounge Sport , set the big goals, chunk them down into smaller sub-goals, track your progress and celebrate each accomplishment, make work outs fun, and don’t stop even if you slip up.  You’ll have firm abs in no time flat.

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Bosu

One of the best weight loss workouts involves using the Bosu ball. The Bosu ball is the blue dome half ball you see in workout facilities. It has a bubble, or dome, on the top and a flat bottom. As far as weight loss workout equipment, it is one of the best.

Bosu ball exercises can workout the whole body. Lower, middle and lower bosy workouts can be performed utlizing the Bosu. You can begin your leg workouts with squats. Like many Bosu ball exercises, you can perform this with the bubble up or down, depending on how difficult you want to make the exercise. You can perform a basic squat by simply standing on the top of the Bosu. Balance and strength will be required to get through the workout. If you want to add to the difficulty you can hold hand weights. If you want more advanced exercises, flip the Bosu over so that the dome is on the floor and the flat part can be stoods on. This makes balance key as well as strength. You could also pick up the Bosu and hold it over your head while you perform the squat.

Another leg workout is the lunge. With the dome side up take one step backwards from the Bosu. Perform the lunge by starting with either leg and lunge onto the top of the Bosu. Alternate legs as you do the exercise. As you perform this exercise you can hold weights.

Abdominal muscle are worked by middle body exercises. You can sit on the dome of the Bosu, with your feet on the floor, and do a simple sit up. You can lift your legs and do crunches, pulling your legs in to your chest then expanding them outward. The bicycle crunch exercise is but one movement that can be done on the Bosu. You will have to tighten your abs during each exercise as you work to kep your balance on the Bosu ball.

Upper body workouts with the Bosu include pushups. With your feet on the floor and your hands on the Bosu, perform the typical pushup. You can also place your hands on the floor and put your feet up on the Bosu dome to do pushups. Flip the Bosu over so the dome is on the floor and grab the outer edges of the flat side to perform more advanced pushups. Shoulder workouts can be added by performing a military press over your head with the Bosu. Weight loss exercises do not get much better than this.

As you can see the Bosu is a very versatile piece of exercise equipment. The Bosu is one of the best things to use for weight loss workouts. You will find that you will gain strength and lose weight using it.

Causes of Indigestion Pain

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Indigestion pain affects many people around the world today and is usually caused by simple causes that can be treated through dietary changes or some over the counter medication.  In some cases, however, there are more serious issues involved that may need the help of a physician to cure or at least soothe the problem. There are only a small number of cases where the indigestion chest pain or pain in other areas are symptoms of a more serious issue like gallstones or cancer, but it is always wise to go to the doctor for a check up if the symptoms persist after over the counter treatments.

Typical Indigestion Pain Causes

Once cause of indigestion pain is heartburn which is often caused by overeating or by eating a large amount of acidic foods.  It can also be caused by a condition called acid reflux, which is where there is a defective valve in the esophagus that allows the stomach acid to come back up in the throat.  This type of indigestion pain can usually be helped by changing eating habits and by utilizing over the counter antacid medications.

Gastritis is the other reason of indigestion pain, that is a condition that also causes pain to the upper abdomen or in the stomach, gastritis is a condition where the lining of the stomach is inflamed that causes the pain. There are many different reasons for gastritis, many of which can also be solved by changing eating or drinking habits, such as reducing intake of alcohol, or reducing the amount of pain relievers that are taken in a day which irritate the lining of the stomach.

Indigestion pain can also be caused by a more serious condition called a peptic ulcer, which is a sore in the lining of the stomach, esophagus or the small intestine.  This indigestion pain can vary from the upper chest area down to the lower belly, depending on where the ulcer resides.  This type of ulcer, like gastritis, can be caused by using too many pain relievers which irritate the bowels or can be caused by a certain bacteria.

The most serious causes of indigestion pain are gallstones or stomach cancer.  In both cases, much more serious measures must be taken for the individual instead of changing medication or diet.  With gallstones, there can be serious side effects besides the pain such as nausea and vomiting.  Stomach cancer might also be the issue with the indigestion pain and must be treated as soon as possible, as it is normally a tumor that is developing that causes the pain.  Many times there is blood in the stool when cancer is present.
